ABOUT SPELT

Spelt has been grown as a cultural crop for thousands of years, but due to the mass spread of cultivated wheat, it has almost disappeared from people’s diet. It is now experiencing a comeback to the gastronomy scene.

WHAT IS IT SUITABLE FOR

Spelt flour can be used for making savoury and sweet dishes and pastries. Spelt buns, croissants, kolaches, waffles, doughnuts, pancakes, crumpets, cakes, muffins, confectionery and other dishes are popular, giving them a typical delicate nutty taste and aroma. Spelt flour can be used in the same way as the ordinary wheat flour, with which it can be combined in any proportion or it can completely replace it.

We mill fine spelt flour using a unique milling technology, which causes significantly less damage to the grain starch. Thanks to this, Pernerka acquires excellent baking properties.
